Renal: Questions to ask

You'll often need to ask for more information before answering a clinical question about use of medicines in renal impairment. There are some general questions to ask when problem solving, but what do you need to know that's specific to patients with renal disease?

Think about the kind of questions you'd ask if a doctor on your ward wanted advice about selecting a safe medicine to use in renal disease, or wanted to adjust the dose because of renal impairment. What questions might you ask about the medicine(s) involved, and about the patient?
