Adverse reactions: Questions to ask

You will usually need further information before tackling a clinical problem involving an adverse reaction. There are some general questions to ask when problem solving, but what do you need to know that’s specific to ADRs?

Have a think about the sort of information you may need when dealing with a clinical problem involving an adverse reaction. 

Perhaps a nurse has asked you: "Mr Smith has a rash. Do you think it's caused by one of his medicines?" What questions might you ask about the medicines concerned, and about the patient? How do you ensure any advice you give is actioned?
